Located in Queen’s Marque district on the Halifax waterfront, The Fog Company experiments with unexpected and Canadian-inspired flavours, and quirky and inventive toppings. The Day to Day:

Under the direction of the Director of Operation and District Pastry Chef. The Fog Company Manager will perform supervisory duties in the restaurants. Including but not limited to:

  • Opening and closing the space and completing checklists with staff
  • Liaise with guests including guest recovery
  • Full cycle recruitment for hourly staff
  • Training and development for hourly staff, including training paths for new hires
  • Creation of staff schedules
  • Performance management of hourly staff including one-on-one’s, performance reviews and progressive discipline up to termination.
  • Completion and review of daily logbook
  • Inventory, ordering and invoicing through Optimum Control
  • Maintenance of entire space including ice cream machine, coffee machine and glass washers.  
  • Daily accounting/cashout practices

Qualifications

  • Supervisory or management experience in a restaurant, retail or quick service environment
  • You have superior verbal and written communication skills
  • You demonstrate extreme organization in a fast paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a large and variable work load, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned work
