Job Description

The internship will involve capturing content at in-person events and working alongside the marketing and event team to create fun, professional and engaging content for social media. Students will be introduced to various aspects of marketing, event planning, event management / operations and will be able to utilize their creativity to effectively convey stories through their lens to our clients and followers.

  • Part remote/part on-site (30/70)
  • Honorarium ($1000 upon completion)

Responsibilities

  •  Participating in various events and capturing it through your lens to retell the story on social media
  • Create and plan weekly content calendars
  • Provide executional support for traditional, digital and social media marketing
  • Capture and edit photos and videos for social media
  • Use social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram
  •  Assist with preparing analytic reports using Sprout Social
  • Proofread marketing assets to ensure their accuracy and alignment to brief
  • Monitor social inboxes and reply to inquiries

Learning Experiences Provided

  • Onboarding of new interns will include an introduction to the brand and how to write for our social media posts across all platforms
  • Students will be able to learn about how events go from ideation to execution
  • Opportunity to shadow members from across our production staff (from sales to operations to back of house…)
  • We provide weekly check ins with team members to encourage a wider learning experience and networking opportunities
  • Interns will be able to contribute to content team brainstorm sessions

Qualifications

  • This position must be used towards a post-secondary school credit
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Interest in/commitment to event planning and coordination
  • Self-starter
  • High proficiency and interest in social media. A strong familiarity with Facebook and Instagram is required (ability to create fun and exciting reels is an asset)
  • Experience with any photo editing app and/or online graphic tools is an asset (Lightroom/ canva)
  • Able to work independently and take initiative while also being an effective team player
  • Intermediate photo/video knowledge is an asset
  • Administrative experience (answering phones & emails, filing, etc.)
  • An optimistic attitude
  •  A strong interest in photography
  • Creative ability
  • Basic knowledge of digital marketing
  • Office experience is considered an asset, but not required
  • Previous food and beverage/ hospitality experience is considered an asset, but not required
  • Previous experience in photography or content creation is considered an asset, but not required
  • Experience using social media scheduling platforms is considered an asset but not required
