Job Description

Provide financial & accounting support for Oliver & Bonacini restaurants via the process of preparing and analysing financial statements and the attention to detail necessary to ensure accurate reporting in all areas.

 

·       Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule.

·       Analyse monthly PL’s for discrepancies and any other issues that should be brought to the controller’s attention.

·       Responsible for all aspects of the month-end closing processes, including recording accruals and preparing and adjusting journal entries.

·       Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

·       Build relationships with restaurant managers and anticipate restaurant managers’ needs.

·       Communicate daily with operational personnel to resolve discrepancies.

·       Prepare and distribute bi-weekly payroll gratuity reporting.

·       Prepare and post sales for multiple restaurants.

·       Reconcile credit card & gift card payments recorded to actual payments received.

·       Set up and maintain accounts receivable spreadsheets and reconcile to the general ledger.

·       Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts.

·       Invoicing

·       Accounts payable

·       Administrative duties

·       Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

·       1-3 years of practical accounting experience

·       Must be bilingual – both written and verbal (French and English)

·       Asset – Restaurant and/or Hotel industry

·       Practical working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications

·       Self-starter, flexible, and able to work independently

·       Ability to multi-task, and change priorities constantly as needed in a fast-paced environment

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional telephone etiquette

·       Superior customer service skills
