Job Description

Pizzeria Libretto is looking for Lead Servers to join our team. Lead Servers are servers that have multiple years of experience in the hospitality industry, making them the benchmark for our newer recruits. As a Lead Server you must be able to manage large and busy sections independently, train and assist in the education of new FOH staff and on occasion perform management duties such as opening or closing the restaurant. 

Lead Servers are extremely knowledgeable about all food and beverage items in the restaurant and are eager to share this knowledge with their co-workers. By adhering to the steps of service they answer questions, provide recommendations and create a positive guest experience. Lead Servers maintain a clean restaurant and monitor food quality to ensure all items are held to Pizzeria Libretto’s presentation standards. Through knowledge, accuracy and efficiency our Lead Servers provide the upmost satisfaction to our guests.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guide guests through menu items and encourage different wine and food pairings to promote the ultimate dining experience
  • Utilize seat-specific ordering so to not auction food when it is delivered to the table
  • Monitor food quality and presentation standards
  • Ensure guests are satisfied with their food and service
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the causes of food contamination and the methods of prevention
  • Follow all food safety standards and systems
  • Be aware of any special requests, inclusive of guest allergies
  • Open/close the restaurant in full accordance with opening/closing procedures
  • Have an excellent understanding of the POS system, its tools & our ordering policies; enter all orders ensuring accuracy
  • Ongoing table maintenance including water service, clearing and cleaning tables, and restocking service tools and table mise en place, etc.
  • Respond appropriately to guest requests, communicating requests to Managers as needed
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness of entire dining room and public areas
  • Perform additional responsibilities, as requested by Manager

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years service experience in a Full-Service Restaurant
  • Smart Serve Certification is a requirement
  • A Degree/Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent is considered an asset
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Organizational skills and sales ability
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • High level of product knowledge
  • Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum

Additional Information

COMPENSATION:

  • $15/hour plus gratuities during standard service
  • $18/hour plus gratuities when performing supervisory duties
  • Health & Dental benefits after probationary period
  • $500 Signing Bonus - $100 immediately after training and $400 after probationary period
