Job Description

Events and Catering Supervisor are a key part of the Event Operations team. They directly supervise all events. This includes the planning, set-up, execution and tear down of all events. Events and Catering Supervisor stays in contact with the host (on-site contact or convenor) throughout the event to ensure the highest guest satisfaction possible. All duties are to be performed in accordance with O&B standards, regulations, as well as policies, practices and procedures.

Qualifications

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate full understanding of BEO’s by following instruction, special requests, setups and billing specifications.
  • Maintains cleanliness of banquet rooms, hallways, storage and service areas.
  • Manage all opening and closing side duties following check lists
  • Possess a strong knowledge of event menu items, their contents and garnishing so as to answer questions and/or make recommendations
  • Respond quickly to guest requests, supervisors and managers in a timely, professional and efficient manner
  • Monitor food quality and presentation standards
  • Communicates the vision to all team members and leads by example.  Reinforces the O&B values daily and inspires the team with his/her exciting vision for the future
  • Regularly monitors and achieves the O&B points of technical service and points of details
  • Builds and maintains relationships with guests, team members and senior management alike
  • Follows bar, beverage and wine control procedures exactly
  • Shows leadership in creating a culture that revolves around the experience and enjoyment of food and wine
  • Demonstrates high personal integrity, business ethics and takes every opportunity to promote the venue
  • Uses conflict/resolution and problem solving skills
  • Assists with the tracking of sales, invoicing, and managing inventory
  • Conduct briefings with event service staff prior to each function, Inspect uniforms, review assignments, and steps of service for each event.
  • Participate on Health & Safety Committee, ensuring that the Occupational Health & Safety Act and WSIB procedures are being followed
  • Ensure facility is well maintained, repaired and spotless at all times
  • Assist Event Servers
  • Review and implement table and seating diagrams
  • Complete event captain’s report
  • Enter event bill in POS system meeting all requirements and specifications from BEO
  • Work closely with O&B managers and assist in operations when needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned or required
