Oliver & Bonancini Restaurants is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to shape and implement strategies that will help us develop and retain high-performing employees.  The HR Generalist's responsibilities include designing, delivering and implementing employee training programs, building succession plans and working with the executive team to manage the internal promotion process.

Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist assists in the implementation of all HR activities, inclusive of training, coaching and development, employee relations, reward and recognition, hiring and succession planning, and health and safety. The HR Generalist is also responsible for assisting with project planning, design and implementation of new initiatives.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the development and facilitation of training initiatives within assigned restaurants and assist in development of new/revised training manuals
  • Develop and foster positive relationships with outside partners including colleges and universities
  • Anticipate and prevent employee concerns through proactive employee relations support
  • Provide counsel and direction to concerned employees and follow up to ensure issues are addressed effectively and appropriately
  • Act as a liaison with staff and senior management to ensure successful and effective communication
  • Provide reliable direction and counsel for all hourly terminations and performance documentation
  • Regularly visit assigned restaurants, facilitating HR functions to support restaurant team
  • Responsible for adhering to and implementing HR policies and procedures

Qualifications

 

  • Post-secondary Degree/Diploma in a related field; CHRP designation or in pursuit of
  • Minimum 3 years progressive HR experience preferably in a generalist capacity
  • Strong training and development background with proven track record of developing training programs and managing the execution
  • Skilled at building relationships and effective teams with the ability to drive a culture of service excellence
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to form strong relationships at all levels
  • On-going learning efforts, and professional membership that demonstrate a commitment to the Human Resources profession
  • Self starter, flexible, and able to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task, and change priorities constantly as needed in a fast paced environment
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
