Job Description

The Director, Edmonton Operations is responsible for setting up and running the event sales team, building O&B’s brand presence in the Western Region and setting up strategic partnerships to further our growth in this region.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, manage and lead Edmonton operations- including involvement in hiring process for all employees, implementing all systems, setting department targets, communicating incentives, etc
  • Providing leadership, guidance and performance development to all direct reports, including: GM, Restaurant; GM, Events; Chef, Restaurant; Chef, Events; Event Sales Manager; Office Manager
  • O&B Brand Ambassador within the Edmonton and surrounding business community,  building networks and positioning O&B as the premium luxury brand of choice
  • Build supplier and strategic partnerships - including networking with schools, local suppliers, local business - with the aim to partner with companies that embrace similar values to O&B
  • Oversee building maintenance, including working with building tenants to ensure safe and efficient facilities for our employees and guests
  • Provide feedback and design advice for event space, PDR and in restaurant/lounge,  and private members club, as needed
  • Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize  operating efficiency
  • Co-ordinate financial and operational plans that maximize  operational  efficiencies
  • Review  performance data (financial, sales and activity reports) on  an ongoing basis; work with Calgary senior management team to achieve financial and operational goals
  • Make decisions on behalf of O&B in regards to all Edmonton based business
  • Assist with service, including covering shifts and acting as a floor manager, when necessary 

Qualifications

 

  • 10 years + experience working in combination of restaurant, event and night club environment in progressive accountability and management roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and/ or Business, considered an asset
  • Proven track record in building high performance teams, leading cross-functionally, developing and retaining employees, and driving organizational goals
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Demonstrated project management and experience
  • Strong collaborative skills with the proven ability to drive results and leadership ownership/accountability
  • Strong interpersonal communication and creative problem solving skills required
  • Strong assessment and decision making skills
  • Proven ability to influence and build relationships both within the organization and with external sources
  • Passion for creating excellent guest experiences
