Ofinno is looking for experienced subject matter experts in Video Compression Technologies.  You’ll work in a collaborative culture, having the chance to learn how new technologies are developed, patented, and implemented in our research and development lab. This position has the option of being on-site in Reston, VA or remote (international or U.S.).

What You’ll Do 

You will be responsible for developing features that improve the efficiency of video compression technologies. You will possess expert knowledge of compression theory and international standard organizations. You will be a part of a creative, self-directed, and self-motivated team of researchers dedicated to inventing novel compression technologies. 

Who You Are 

You are an expert in advanced video compression technologies with the following experience: 

• Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of research and development experience. 
• Strong background in image/video processing and analysis and video compression.
• Strong experience in developing video codec technologies.
• Experience in MPEG standards – video (HEVC, VVC). 
• Experience patenting novel inventions. 

OR 

• Experience and contributions with video system standards such as AVC, HEVC, VVC.

You should also be or have:

• Experienced in software development (C/C++). 
• Experience being a standards delegate to MPEG or JVET a plus. 
• Strong research background in image/video processing and analysis, storage and delivery and video compression. Proven track record in publications, technical innovation and problem solving. 
• A great communicator and team player who is comfortable collaborating internally and with external customers.
