Job Description

Production Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to production areas, ensuring the achievement of OEE objectives and production KPIs
  • Initiate and coordinate improvement actions across various departments to enhance production efficiency
  • Analyse production processes and implement strategies to optimise performance and reduce waste
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production processes
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure products meet required standards and specifications
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement preventive maintenance schedules
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical issues and improve product quality
  • Participate in new product development projects, providing manufacturing input and feasibility assessments
  • Monitor and report on key production metrics, presenting findings to management
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to recommend innovative solutions
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of efficiency and quality

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design and Product Development Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and administrative tasks
  • Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in production engineering or a related field
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and standards
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in manufacturing environments
  • Experience with process analysis and optimization techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Lean Manufacturing: Basic knowledge of Lean elements such as: 5S, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, Kanban, Point-of-Use.
  • Warehousing, Pokayoke, Process Mapping, SMED, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering drawing and CAD principles.
