Our production plant in Poland, opened in 2018, supplies millions of high-end clamps, rings and ‘Quick Connectors’ solutions to customers in the vehicle and manufacturing industries. Our team is also partly responsible for the multi-crimp rings product group. These rings are used for cooling, heating and air intake systems in the vehicle powertrain. Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Product Quality Engineer supports product development and is responsible for the definition of all quality-relevant product requirements for new clamps and rings products.  As a core member of the IDEA (APQP) team this role works to ensure that Quality is designed into our products and processes.

Essential Functions

  • Core team member of IDEA team (APQP) for Clamps and Rings products
    • Participation in Project meetings
    • Providing input for all Quality related activities
    • Ensuring customer-specific requirements are considered and included
  • Defines quality related requirements for new products
    • Inspection methods (including device selection/validation)
    • Core documents definition in collaboration with Center of Competence and GPPE: 
      • Process flow, PFMEA and Control Plan.
    • Global coordination of Engineering Change Requests within the quality network.
  • Coordination with Global Current Product Quality
    • Ensure lessons learned are incorporated in new products
    • Assist in smooth transition from engineering to serial production
  • Close cooperation and networking with the Center of Competence, Global Product and Process Engineering, Application Management and Sales teams

Qualifications

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 3+ years quality experience, preferably in a high-mix/high-volume environment
  • Degree in engineering or similar combined with relevant technical experience
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing (Tier Supplier) is a major plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and preferably in a second language, e.g. German, Mandarin, Spanish
  • Excellent communication and follow-through skills and attention to detail 
  • Able to collaborate effectively across departmental functions
  • Proven ability to promote transparency and effective reporting methods for audiences ranging from the “shop-floor" to the executive level
  • High integrity, fair, emotionally mature, self-aware
  • Active listener, coach mentality, able to constructively challenge
  • Have a high degree of quality orientation 
  • Required Travel: 20 %
