Job Description

We are expanding our team in Gothenburg and are looking for a Head Quality & Environment Polymer Solutions Sweden. You will be responsible for assuring quality in all phases of our polymer value stream from raw material supply to customers' utilization of our products. This includes maintaining and improving the Quality Management System, ensuring adherence to relevant industry standards and regulations, overseeing the quality assurance and control processes, and acting as the quality interface to customers and suppliers to guarantee product integrity and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Quality Management System

  • Maintain and improve the Oetiker Sweden Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Ensure compliance to quality standards such as APQP, IATF 16949, ISO14001 as well as to other applicable regulatory requirements (e.g. REACH, RoHS)
  • Plan and coordinate internal and external audits

Quality Assurance & continuous improvement

  • Implement and oversee the quality assurance and control processes
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and implement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing to enhance efficiency, reduce defects, and optimize processes
  • Prepare regular reports on quality performance, trends, and areas for improvement and present findings to management and relevant stakeholders

Customer relationship management

  • Collect customer specific quality requirements and ensure that products meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Support an effective PPAP submission process involving suppliers and other Oetiker entities to ensure timely and accurate part qualification for customers
  • Conduct reviews of critical customer complaints and 8D’s and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions to address customer concerns

Supplier quality assurance

  • Support search, evaluation and selection of new suppliers
  • Ensure supplier understanding and compliance with APQP processes and PPAP submission and approval for all new components
  • Conduct quality audits at suppliers and track quality performance to ensure reliability and consistency of supplied components
  • Execute on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and validation of correction actions of supplier quality issues

Qualifications

  • Higher degree in engineering (BSc/MSc)
  • 7+ years experience leading a Quality team in automotive
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, IATF 16949 and ISO14001 (lead auditor certificate is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of polymer processing techniques and plastic material properties
  • Strong statistical and problem-solving know-how (Six Sigma, SPC, lean manufacturing)
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement
  • Active listener with coach mentality who is able to constructively challenge
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, customers
  • Understanding of project management fundamentals
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Swedish and English
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter with hands-on skills and a team-oriented attitude
