Position Summary

Reporting to the Quality and Environmental Manager, the QE works closely with business leaders assisting in the evaluation, development and maintenance of a Quality and Environmental Management program that meets business objectives including IATF 16949, ISO 9001/14001 and VDA 6.3

Environmental and Business Management System Support

Assist with development, implementation, auditing and maintenance of the Environmental (EMS) and Business Management Systems (BMS) in accordance with company, customer, applicable international standard requirements 16949, ISO14001, VDA 6.3) statutory and regulatory requirements.

 Assist with the development of audit plans and follow-up on audit activities for EMS and BMS.
Follow-up and track completion of corrective actions to audit nonconformances with responsible departments.
Assist business leader in the creation and maintenance of Company documentation, such as, but not limited to process flow diagrams, forms, and prescribing documentation.
Assist in planning and implementation of projects to meet Environmental and Quality objectives.
Ensure all environmental sampling, monitoring, reporting and record retention is successfully completed and all compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures.

Support Quality Assurance Staff

Assist and or provide coverage of the responsibilities of all members and functions of the Quality department (including manager) as needed or as directed by the department manager.
Provide support, mentorship and training to other members of the Quality department to ensure development of the group.
Assist other departments as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge of environmental legislation, Audits, and implementations. Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio. Must be self-motivated and carry-out projects with little direction. Able to effectively multi-task, prioritize and solve problems. Excellent project and time management skills; complete projects within deadline. Must be highly organized and have exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills. Able to travel internationally. Good Knowledge, understanding of Basic and Core Quality tools.

Qualifications

Must have completed technical school, college or university education in Environmental Science/Studies and/or Quality-related discipline.
Experience with reviewing and statutory documents and technical writing.
Experience working in an automotive manufacturing environment considered an asset.  Experience working in Quality Engineering
