Job Description

Essential Functions

Quality Engineer assists production personnel with product quality issues. They are the first contact in investigating customer issues and assists in maintaining the OUS Management System.

  • Represent the voice of the customer
  • Identify and record all non-conformances
  • Recommends disposition of product quality related issues
  • Conduct process/product audits
  • Lead problem solving/CI teams
  • Review customer quality agreements and customer specific requirements (drawings)
  • Assist/back-up QA Support
  • Define/update procedures/work instructions
  • Maintain SPC system
  • Review SPC charts
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations
  • Compliance to the Management Manual, IATF 16949, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 requirements
  • Works with the Quality and Environmental Manager to monitor and document customer scorecards
  • Works with the Quality and Environmental Manager to monitor customer portals for important information and/or changes

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Mandatory - Math skills, Attention to Detail, Inspection/layout Skills, Logic & Reasoning Skills,
  • Preferred - ISO 14000 and IATF 16949 Lead Auditor, Working knowledge of T.O.P.S (8D), Problem Reporting and Resolution, Advanced Product Quality Planning, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments

Education / Experience

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Engineering or related degree
  • Prefer a minimum of three (3) years of quality assurance experience
