Essential Functions

Job Summary - Quality Assurance Technician

To ensure product conformity, Lab & Metrology analysis on products, provides appropriate measurement systems to production and ensures its calibration and verification.

  • Performs the measurements for initial samples, incoming inspection for purchased parts according to control plan (including conformity checks of material certificates), first off parts if applicable, sampling inspections, product audits, layout inspection and problem solving
  • Supports in preparation of PPAP
  • Supports production in implementation and use of SPC in production according to the control plan
  • Supports with metrology competence whenever needed, e.g. training
  • In case of non-conforming product escalates to the relevant function for further decision
  • Participates in design and approval of new gage concepts
  • Verifies gages, manages calibration and MSA (Measurement System Analysis) for all measuring systems (planning, execution, documentation)
  • Participates in the development of metrology methods and competence in the international network

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Metrology techniques and equipment
  • Measurement systems analysis (MSA)
  • Statistical process control (SPC)

Education / Experience

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • A minimum of three years experience in a metrology laboratory or related field
