Position Summary

Proactively ensures a safe and productive working environment. Optimizes the safety, reliability, and productivity of production machinery & equipment primarily through planned maintenance, repair, and improvements.

Essential Functions 

  • Proactively uses mechanical, electrical, and effective communication skills for the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of machinery & equipment
  • Performs planned machinery & equipment maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and productive operation
  • Troubleshoots problems/failures of automated machinery & equipment and initiates the repair
  • Participates in maintenance & reliability of shared-use facilities such as electrical supply, transmission, and safeguarding, pneumatic compressors & circuits, floor cleaning & wastewater treatment equipment, cutting fluid and scrap metal reclamation equipment, and the plant’s backup generator(s)
  • Communicates progress/status of maintenance & reliability activities to Maintenance Supervisor regularly
  • Documents maintenance & reliability activities daily
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals, drawings and schematics
  • Conducts machine change-overs and replaces tooling as needed to support Machine Set-Up Personnel
  • Uses powered hand tools, precision measuring devices, non-CNC machining, and welding equipment (under qualified supervision) to fabricate parts for the maintenance & reliability of machinery & equipment
  • Executes plant changeover to generator power in emergency situations
  • Rigging and moving of machinery as needed
  • Operates forklift and scissor lift as needed
  • Performs building and grounds maintenance & reliability activities as needed

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and operation of automated equipment required
  • Effective communication skills required
  • Forklift and scissor lift certifications required
  • Welding and machinery experience a plus

Education / Experience

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year Technical school w/ 2 years’ experience repairing automated equipment OR a minimum of a HSD and 6 years’ experience repairing automated equipment required
  • 3-5 years’ manufacturing industry experience preferred

Additional Information

This is a 2nd Shift position with regular hours starting at 2:00 pm and ending at 10:30 pm.
