Job Description

Purpose of the Role

Join our Luxembourg Desk in Mauritius and play an important role in supporting a diverse portfolio of capital markets clients. This is an excellent opportunity to deepen your accounting expertise in securitisation, structured finance and private debt structures while gaining exposure to international clients and complex transactions. You'll have the chance to take ownership of your own portfolio, build strong client relationships and contribute to the delivery of high-quality accounting and reporting services within a collaborative global environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of a portfolio of capital markets clients, building strong relationships and delivering a high-quality service experience.
  • Prepare accounting records, financial statements, management accounts and regulatory reports in line with required accounting standards and deadlines.
  • Review and understand complex capital market transactions, including financial instruments, loan agreements and distribution calculations.
  • Liaise with clients, auditors and other external stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of financial reporting and audit requirements.
  • Attend client and board meetings to present financial information and provide accounting insights.
  • Prepare tax and VAT returns while ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Support the preparation of budgets, working papers and client deliverables in line with Ocorian's quality standards.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and provide support to the wider team, helping drive excellent outcomes for clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • ACCA or ACA fully/partly qualified, or degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related field; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
  • At least 2-3 years' accounting experience, ideally within financial services, capital markets, structured finance, securitisation or auditing.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS; exposure to Lux GAAP or other accounting frameworks would be an advantage.
  • Comfortable working with accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build professional relationships with clients, auditors and colleagues at all levels.
  • Proactive, adaptable and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently, collaborate as part of a team and manage multiple priorities effectively.
