Purpose of the Job
To be able to assist the Compliance Team in the following duties and responsibilities. The role will predominantly be in respect of Jersey however there may be touchpoints with other Ocorian jurisdictions. This means the role holder may have to interpret a range of different regulations.
Main responsibilities
- Assist in supporting the global compliance monitoring programme structure for Ocorian Jersey
- Carry out compliance monitoring tasks in line with such programme
- Assist with the production of the regular compliance reports
- Assist with the Compliance related tasks around the management of CPD for the wider business
- Monitoring / maintenance of key Jersey regulatory registers (e.g. breaches, complaints, PEPs, regulatory updates / correspondence etc.)
- Maintenance of the Jersey Compliance Calendar
- Assist with the management of queries received via the internal Compliance Mailbox
- Assist with regulatory / audit / obliged person reliance related requests for information
- Support and deliver other compliance related activities
- Assist in developing and implementing global and Jersey compliance guidance and processes
- Support the Global Client Screening process as required
- Provide Compliance advice if within area of knowledge
Qualifications
Knowledge/skills/experience
- May hold Certificate level qualification or above or working towards it
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to understand and interpret regulations constructively with a “can do” approach
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
- Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing, to express views in a clear and succinct manner at all levels within the organisation
- Strong report writing and presentation skills to convey the findings of reviews and provision of reports to senior management
- Ability to think about review findings and present them in a clear, articulate manner
- Excellent attention to detail and the requirement to produce documentation to a high standard
- An enquiring and analytical mind with good investigative skills and the ability to spot and question findings and suggest potential solutions / improvements.
- Ability to pragmatically review findings in a commercial environment
- Good time management with the ability to work in an orderly way, as well as the ability to work under pressure and plan ahead to achieve deadlines set, delivering agreed tasks on time
- Able to take responsibility for workload and priorities
- A competent user of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word and Excel
- To be able to travel to other Ocorian offices as required
