Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Specialist – Maintenance Planning (Shutdown), whose main responsibility of this position are the following.
1. Responsible for creating and overseeing maintenance shutdown and project schedules within the Process Fixed Plant areas, ensuring that all tasks are executed and completed on time.
2. Responsible for ensuring adherence to all relevant safety standards and environmental regulations.
3.Shutdown Establishment – Develop medium- and long-term shutdown plans to align with the Major Events Calendar for Shutdown related tasks.
4.Shutdown Planning – Finalise the detailed planning and scheduling for individual shutdown work orders and the overall shutdown schedule.
5. Shutdown Preparation – Participate in shutdown risk assessments including identification of High Risk HSEC elements, identification of Simultaneous Operations (SimOps), risk identification and control measures, specialty tooling and equipment needs. Manage pre-shutdown staging of materials, and compilation of work packs.
6. Shutdown Execution – Monitor and communicate progress against the schedule, and complete planning activities for emergent work.
7. Shutdown Completion – Manage the demobilization of shutdown Labour, Tools, Equipment, material returns and rotable spares management.
8. Shutdown Improvement – Evaluate documentation from Package Owners, assess and incorporate improvements into future shutdowns and the Computerised Maintenance Management System.

This role reports to the Superintendent - Planning / Superintendent – Shutdown.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Identify shutdown-related work-scope and conduct a review to ensure the objectives are achieved
  • Ensures a detailed work order planning, including task breakdown and resource allocation
  • Generates and manages the sequence of shutdown schedules, encompassing work orders related to engineering and shutdown planning
  • Leads effective meeting to review and refine schedule to align with the budgeted timeframe, making critical decisions regarding schedule content and its implications
  • Coordinates with shutdown team members on the materials and logistic requirements for planned shutdown activitiesMonitors timelines and makes adjustment to ensure successful project completion
  • Develops a detailed project scope, ensuring all activities are accurately scoped planned
  • Actively participates in team activities, sharing information, and seeking input from others.,
  • Flexibly adjusts to changing team dynamics, roles, and responsibilities

Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s/College Degree, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or equivalent

Work Experience and Background:

  • Minimum of three (3) years in maintenance shutdown planning & scheduling role; maintaining fixed plant equipment’s (e.g., grinding mills, conveyors, crushers, pumps, filters, electrical motors, etc.) or other related industry experience
  • Experience in material planning and understanding supply chain process.
  • Maintenance Engineering background and experience.
  • Preferably coming from Mining or related industry

Specialization/License:

  • With valid Professional Driver’s License
  • PRC License (Pass Board/Bar/Professional License Exam)
