Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring underground mining activities are executed in accordance with Life of Mine plans, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support underground mining operations across short-term planning, short interval control, drill and blast, ventilation, backfill, load and haul, development, and dispatch.
  • Assist with the development and execution of mine plans to achieve production and development targets.
  • Monitor operational performance and provide technical recommendations to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Prepare and review mine designs, schedules, and engineering reports.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and industry best practices.
  • Identify, assess, and manage workplace risks while promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Conduct regular field inspections and verify critical controls are in place and effective.
  • Collaborate closely with operational teams to optimise mining activities and achieve business objectives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, productivity, and cost performance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mining Engineering.
  • Registered Mining Engineer.
  • Current Driver's Licence, Radio Operator's Licence, and Ventilation Engineer Registration.
  • Minimum 2 years' underground mining experience.
  • Knowledge of underground mining methods, drill and blast, ventilation, mine development, and load and haul.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in mine design software and Microsoft Office.
  • Safety-focused with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement.
