Job Description
The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.
OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Junior Geologist:
To discover and grow mineral resources for OGC
To implement exploration work programmes within the various OGC tenements in a safe and sustainable manner
To identify and generate exploration opportunities for potential business transactions.
This role reports to the Senior Geologist.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Conduct fieldwork, including geological mapping, rock and soil sampling, and drill core logging
Assist in planning and implementing exploration programs
Contribute to sections of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as required and including statutory reporting on exploration permits
Assist with GIS data processing and database management
Liaise with government agency and local stakeholders/community
Supports the Safe Behaviors program.
Ensures direct reports are properly trained and systems are in place to ensure safety.
Actively participates and promotes company safety, health and environmental programs and activities.

Educational Background:
B.S. Geology graduate
Work Experience and Background:
- 1–2 years of experience in mineral exploration or related fieldwork (internship experience may be considered)
- Amenable to 2-year fixed term contract
- Professional Driver's License
- Knowledge of mineral deposit models and basic geochemical and geophysical exploration techniques.
- Background in GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in challenging terrain and remote locations.
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to workplace safety.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Specialization/License:
- Registered Geologist (PRC)
Skills/Training/Experienced Required:
- Field mapping, sampling, and core logging.
- Proficient in M.S. Office and GIS software (arcGIS)
- Must be physically fit and able to work in remote conditions
- Professional Driver license holder, with experienced in 4WD
