Job Description
The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.
OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable, Supervisor – Training, who will assist the training superintendent in the efficient and effective implementation of competency -based training program for Asset Maintenance workforce, oversee their development, including the career progression programs and the continuous improvement of competency frameworks.
The role will report to the Superintendent - Training.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Develop and implement long-term training strategies aligned with organizational goals and future skills
- Explores emerging trends and technologies in training and development such as virtual reality (VR) augment reality (AR) and gamification to enhance learning experiences
- Mentors and coaches’ trainers and facilitators, providing guidance on effective training techniques, presentation skills and program management
- Lead the development and implementation of quality management systems, strategies and standards
- Review the analysis and recommendations and check for soundness, feasibility, and potential impact to operations before providing a final recommendation providing a final recommendation
- Defines the overall budgeting strategy incorporating innovative, financial approaches and advanced forecasting models
- Orchestrates cross functional initiatives to optimize resource allocations, improve financial performance and enhance ROI
- Monitors accuracy and completeness of data and conducts analysis to be used for decision making
- Regularly meets with staff to facilitate discussions on improvement, opportunities and create plans for improvement or innovations
Qualifications

Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g. Mechanical, electrical or industrial) or a related field
Work Experience and Background:
- 5 years of supervisory experience in equipment maintenance and 2 years in a learning and development mining or related industry
Specialization/License:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Valid LTO Driver’s License
Desired Qualifications
- Nationally Recognized in Training Methodology 1 (TM1) or National Certification of relevant trades
- Workplace Trainer Certificate IV
- Workplace Assessors Certificate IV
