Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Technician - Metallurgy to safely provide technical support to the Metallurgists and other Process Plant staff as required. This role will report to the Senior Metallurgist.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Follows established procedures and protocols for metallurgical operations, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards
  • Prepares work surface for fixing items as per the job requirements
  • Demonstrates active listening by paraphrasing and checking for understanding
  • Monitors compliance with document or records tracking procedure for efficient access and retrieva

Educational Background:

  •  High School Level

Work Experience and Background:

  • No relevant work experience is required for the entry level

Specialization/License:

  • TESDA National Certificate NC II and NCIII on Defensive Driving

Knowledge:

  • Metallurgical laboratory equipment
  • Metallurgical laboratory test work
  • Sampling and sample preparation

Skills:

  • Able to do laboratory equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Aptitude for working with laboratory equipment and computer
  • Must be able to achieve set goals, including utilizing and organizing given resources
  • Satisfactory results from the prescribed medical examination and psychological appraisal which may indicate fitness and ability to carry out prescribed tasks to required performance and safety standards

Abilities:

  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to engage with different employee levels and behavior
  • Ability to demonstrate the values of the company and Ethics and Confidentiality
