Job Description

Join our team as a Technical Services Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our mining operations. In this dynamic leadership role, you will oversee all mine planning and design activities, from short-term scheduling to life-of-mine strategies, ensuring alignment with production targets and adherence to established plans.

Your expertise will be key in managing geotechnical and hydrological risks, safeguarding both the safety and economic viability of the operation. You will also provide essential leadership across mine geology, ore control, reconciliation, and reporting, driving operational excellence.

Leading the Technical Services Team, you will deliver specialist expertise in mine engineering, planning, geology, geotechnical analysis, hydrology, and surveying to optimise mining operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact and be part of a forward-thinking team.

About the role

  • Lead and guide a specialist team across Mining, Geotechnical, Geological, Hydrogeological, and Survey disciplines.
  • Advise and support management in developing strategies, priorities, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and mine plans (short-term to Life of Mine).
  • Drive a high-performing technical team to deliver practical, integrated, and continuously improving outcomes.
  • Ensure leading operational and technical practices are applied to studies, projects, and operations.
  • Provide senior technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to enhance individual and team capabilities.
  • Lead and contribute to underground mining innovation and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure production, development, cost, and compliance targets are met while maintaining regulatory standards.
  • Deliver accurate, timely reports to the General Manager and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
  • Over 10 years of experience in a leadership role as a technical and operational mining expert.
  • Strong knowledge of Responsible Gold Mining Principles and Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
  • Expertise in short, medium, and long-term mine planning, safety standards, and budgeting processes.
  • Proven ability to plan, organise, and prioritise effectively while driving action and achieving results.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change, promote innovation, and address challenges with urgency.
  • Technical leadership and coaching experience to develop individuals and enhance team capabilities.
  • Skilled in identifying and resolving issues, implementing preventative controls, and mitigating risks.
  • Ability to hold oneself and others accountable to deliver high-quality results aligned with standards.
  • Commitment to integrating leading operational and technical practices into all aspects of work.
  • Proven ability to build trust, cultivate innovation, and align team efforts with organisational goals.
