A Client seeks a highly skilled and motivated Commodity Trader to oversee the buying and selling of commodities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing market trends, negotiating transactions, and effectively managing trading risks.

Commodities to be Traded:

1. Agricultural commodities (e.g., grains, oilseeds)

2. Energy commodities (e.g., crude oil, natural gas)

3. Metal commodities (e.g., copper, gold)

The role holder will report to the Trading manager/Director, based in Lagos, Nigeria.

• Examine market trends and predictions to spot potential trading opportunities.

• Discuss and carry out trades with suppliers, buyers, and relevant stakeholders.

• Oversee trading risks while ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory guidelines.

• Build and sustain strong relationships with key partners, including suppliers, buyers, and industry professionals.

• Keep informed about industry advancements, market updates, and regulatory modifications.

• Work closely with teams such as logistics, finance, and operations to streamline processes.

• A relevant bachelor's degree in fields such as business, finance, or economics.

• 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in commodity trading.

• In-depth knowledge of commodity markets, trading strategies, and risk management.

• Strong skills in negotiation, communication, and relationship management.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and make well-informed decisions under pressure.
