Job Description
Business Development
Drive the identification of new locations for LPG Filling Plants basis agreed feasibility criteria (location, projected sales volume)
Engage Regulatory Agencies to obtain all LPG Filling Plants pre-construction requirements e.g. Permits, Licences, Certificates, Statutory Payments
Liaise with the project team to monitor the construction / installation of LPG filling plants and skid equipment
Ensure that all LPG Filling Plants operational documents e.g. Permits, Licences, Certificates, Statutory Payments are up to date
Sales and Marketing
To drive sales volumes and margin targets across LPG Depots, Filling Plants, Skids, and ensure availability of required resources to meet these targets
Develop cost efficient pricing system to generate good margins in line with set targets
Work actively with the marketing communications to create product awareness and lead marketing promotion programs to increase margins and market share for LPG.
Develop annual marketing plan detailing activities for the fiscal year
Develop a nationwide LPG customer network to drive market penetration
Negotiate commercial contracts for this business segment as well as identifying and developing new LPG business opportunities
Visit Key LPG customers regularly and follow up LPG usage with workable plans on re-order and repeat patronage
Operations
Engage the Depot and Customers to ensure seamless order to fulfilment cycle for customers ex-LPG Depot
Engage the Trading Team to avoid product stock-out at the Depot
Supervise and coach personnel in the LPG sales and support function.
Ensure that up to date operating procedures / controls guiding LPG sales and operations are in place and enforced
Ensure the LPG Filling plants, and retail skids are constantly stocked to meet the sales demand and zero stock out
Manages the daily Product Programming (Replenishment) Request for all LPG Filling Plants / Skids
Ensure that LPG Filling Plants are adequately and promptly funded to meet their daily operational expenses
Responsible for prompt collection of Trade Accounts Receivables.
Interact with service providers to ensure that SLAs is in place.
Ensure adequate training of LPG sales support staff on gas equipment functioning (observing temperature, level, and flow gauges, and perform regular unit checks to ensure that all equipment is operating as it should)
Liaise with the Project / Technical Teams on all repairs / servicing of all LPG equipment
Oversee all LPG retail storage / distribution equipment (including skid tanks, cylinders etc.) in terms of operations, breakdowns, installation, HSE provisions etc.
Monitor LPG Filling Plants appearance to ensure compliance with minimum look and feel standards
Drive the training of LPG Filling Plant staff towards ensuring compliance with defined operations, service, and safety standards
Drive proper housekeeping and service standards in all LPG Filling Plants to enhance brand strength and customer perception
Drive established Health & Safety practices and ensure enforcement at all LPG Filling Plants
Reporting
Monitor and report on market trends, competitor activities, consumer preference to guide Company’s LPG offering accordingly
Report on LPG sales / financial results to Management
Reviews the periodic LPG Filling Plants / Skid Reports (e.g. Daily, Weekly and Monthly Activity Reports) and reports to Management on same
Implements measures to effectively track and address Customer feedback and complaints
Qualifications
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree / HND in a Social science, Accounting, Finance or Engineering or related discipline is required
Minimum of Six (8) years’ relevant experience in the Sales or Distribution department of LPG in a similar organisation with functional leadership of at least 4 in a management role
Desirable:
MBA or related Master’s degree
