Our Client is a prominent player in the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry, the company’s operations span across major businesses in the Oil and Gas value chain. It currently requires an astute treasury and investment management head.

 

Job Description

To ensure availability and adequacy of funds to finance the Group’s operations, as well as the effective management and accounting for Group funds.

Advises management and provides inputs on the funding and cash-flow implications of the Corporate strategy, goals and plans

Analyses the Group’s need for cash to ensure that adequate funds are available to meet day-to-day operational petty cash expenses and emergencies.

Manages bank balances, interest income and expenses

Enforces policies and procedures to ensure that the company’s liabilities are minimized and payments promptly settled in line with agreed terms

Facilitates prompt payments to Group’s vendors and other creditors by ensuring availability of funds

Builds and maintains relevant banking relationships to ensure availability of funds, secure favorable banking terms and rates and proper management of the Group’s accounts

Monitors and reporting on the prices and rates available on banking products and services (investments, currencies etc.) and making them available as required.

Manages the treasury impress account and maintaining records to allow easy disbursement, reconciliation and replenishment.

Monitors and reporting on cash surpluses and deficits.

Reviews bank statements daily to ascertain correctness of charges, commissions and posted transactions.

Processes updates to bank accounts mandates and processes new account opening forms.

Executes accepted bank facility offer by collating required documents for submission to the banks.

Manages Letters of Credit processing, correspondences and reporting (as well as other credit facilities)

Follows up with bank to resolve any issues experienced in accessing banking facilities.

Oversees the preparation of monthly bank reconciliation statement and other assigned reports e.g. cash flow reports etc.

Advises management on investment decisions

Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years relevant experience, 3 of which must have been in a Management position of an organisation, interfacing with the Executive team and Financial partners

Minimum of a first degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related discipline

Relevant professional certifications e.g. Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or its equivalent

Experience in similar role, banking and knowledge of statutory financial reporting and knowledge of GAAP, IFRS

Desirable:

MBA or Master’s degree in a related discipline
