Job Description

To achieve cost-effective utilization of and accounting for Promenade’s financial resources, through the

definition and enforcement of Financial Standards, Policies and Procedures.

Engages Executive Management and the appropriate Board Committee to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections

Develops and utilizes financial models and activity-based financial analysis to provide a basis for investment decisions and business planning

Manages key banking relationships to facilitate proper, timely and cost-effective funding of business operations

Develops and maintains a system of appropriate financial policies, procedures and controls to ensure efficient financial management

Monitors all third-party payments to ensure that such payments are justified by the value of work successfully completed and are in alignment with the approved budget.

Oversees the preparation and communication of timely, accurate, and useful financial and management reports for investors/lending institutions and Promenade’s management on a periodic and /or ad-hoc basis.

Raises funds as approved by the Board of Directors, to finance Promenade’s activities.

Implements a sound accounting framework in compliance with statutory provisions

Develops and implements a robust and reliable financial reporting system in compliance with statutory requirements

Works to ensure that adequate controls are in place to facilitate seamless payment system

Puts in place measures or controls to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately captured and reported

Approves accruals and adjustments on erroneously posted financial transactions into the financial system

Liaises with external auditors to discuss and resolve queries as they arise to ensure seamless audit exercise

Develops and manages relationships with relevant external bodies / contacts e.g. regulatory organizations auditors, solicitors, banks etc.

Responds to relevant requests from financial institutions

Approves payrolls along with the Head - Human Capital to facilitate payment to staff

Manages the company’s payroll system

Advises executive management on changes in financial regulations, legislation and government tariffs

Manages Promenade’s treasury assets to achieve optimal sourcing, application and

growth of funds

Provides technical training, guidance and advise on financial accounting issues, developments and trends to other business or departmental heads

Manages day-to-day accounting transactions and provides leadership to Promenade’s

Finance Department

Manages the performance of staff in the Finance Department

Reviews and approves the Annual Leave schedule for staff of the Finance Department

Reviews weekly financial reports submitted by relevant departments/units and presents timely reports to the Board of Directors

Coordinates the preparation of the company’s financial reports and statutory reporting process

Oversees the preparation of regular financial accounts and management accounts

 

Qualifications

Minimum of twelve (12) years relevant experience, 5 of which must have been in an Executive Management position of an organization, interfacing with the Executive team and Financial partners Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related discipline

Relevant professional certifications e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) , Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or its equivalent

Experience of statutory financial reporting and knowledge of GAAP, IFRS.

Desirable:
MBA or Master’s degree in a related discipline is an advantage.
