The internship is a structured work-based program, affording unemployed graduates work experience in our company. The successful applicants will enter into a 12-month fixed term Internship agreement (not an employment contract) with the company and receive a stipend. 

Job Description

The successful candidate must be self-motivated with an extreme passion for marketing and the strategy behind it, and must be able to compile in-depth reporting and interpret data to identify analytical trends to make recommendations upon findings. This person must be able to function well in a diverse team. The successful candidate must be able to multitask, prioritise and be able to work under extreme pressure. You will be the direct line to the Marketing Media Planners.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Capturing of data onto OUTsurance system.
  • Capturing of all TV, Radio and Print bookings on excel for the upcoming month.
  • Pull weekly/monthly TV viewership numbers to determine if there is an increase/decline in audiences.
  • Assisting the ATL team when needed.
  • Checking and processing of invoices.
  • Assist with checking TV and radio logs in order to determine if media spots are flighted correctly.
  • Create and allocate Radio and TV flighting codes for upcoming bookings.
  • Reporting.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Self-starter, must take ownership of all projects and day-today tasks.
  • Very strong numerical skills. Must enjoy working with numbers on a daily basis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including working with large sets of data, intricate formulas and pivot tables).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, and multi-task.
  • Must have strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Must be able to plan ahead.
  • Work individually and cohesive as a team
  • Attention to detail

Qualifications

  • Matric
  • HG Mathematics/Mathematics in Matric with a high pass grade (65% and above)
  • Marketing Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree
  • Statistics and/or mathematics as a subject at tertiary level will be beneficial
  • Strong Excel knowledge will be beneficial

Take note to qualify for an INSETA Internship program you need to:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Not previously part of an internship/learnership with INSETA
  • Be between the ages of 18 & 35
  • Unemployed in the last 2 months
