Principal Mechanical Design Engineer  (9 months plus)

Designs, develops, and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc. May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 8+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Seeking an expert with experience in the creation and use of gas turbine engine full-engine 3-D finite element modeling using the NASTRAN product suite. Duties include the creation, calibration, solution and post-processing of large full engine NASTRAN models to obtain engine bearing loads, engine carcass loads and moments, and engine mount loads transmitted to the airframe as a function of time. Proficiency in the creation and usage of super-element models is desired. Experience with both the frequency and time domain, implicit and explicit modeling is desired. Experience using LSDYNA is desirable. May oversee the work of other design engineers. Must be a self-starter and take abstract ideas and translate into a plan. Works with other members of the engineering staff to ensure that assignments are completed in a timely manner. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 8+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
