Java/Scala Engineer

• Location: Portland, OR
• Years of Experience: 5+ Years
• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or equivalent work experience

Bring it! (Responsibilities)

• Work on large-scale, multi-tier data engagements. 
• Build distributed, scalable, and reliable data pipelines that ingest and process data at scale and in real-time.
• Collaborate with other teams to design and develop and deploy data tools that support both operations and product use cases. 
• Perform offline analysis and analytics of large data sets
  
• Takes point on architecture evaluations and proof of concepts.

Own It! (Qualifications) 

• Has worked in JVM-based languages (Java, Scala).
• Experience with Java and Scala
• Experience with Apache Spark
• Experience with large data sets utilizing NoSQL graph databases (such as ArangoDB, Neo4, and TitanDB).
• Familiarity with Docker, GIT, Jenkins, Maven
• Strong Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
