Sensor Integration Systems Engineer - IV

Bring It! (Description)

Develops Next Generation Tasking (NGT) and Processing, Exploitation, Dissemination (PED) GEOINT domain specific mission capabilities and functional needs, directly supporting USG stakeholders making critical investment trade decisions across DOTMLPFP layers enabling mission-driven portfolio management effectiveness. Serves on cross-functional integrated teams of mission, data, solution architects/ engineers transforming tradecraft, collaborating to pioneer new ways to achieve GEOINT mission opportunities enabled by cloud and virtualization Information Technologies. Provides NGA systems planning, architecture, engineering, analysis of NextGen GEOINT system implementation and capability integration into NSG/ASG/GSG enterprise, from joint topical requirements and CONOPS development, through enterprise transition into ops, spanning across TPED spectrum. Manages, develops, coordinates and documents integration of inter-dependent Next Gen GEOINT functions into IG2A/GEA baseline architecture. SE&I enabler for NextGen GEOINT-driven enterprise architecture, requirements, interfaces, and products from definition to closure, managing engineering uncertainties.

Plans/coordinates NGA POR/TA’s implementation and mods to existing NGA systems/segments/ capabilities/services, and integration to support NextGen GEOINT functions, data types, formats, and volumes. Performs technical planning, IV&V, implementation plan/schedule/technical performance/cost risk/supportability and mission effectiveness analyses at all levels for NSG/ASG/GSG enterprise throughout SLC, leveraging mission partner systems. Ensures logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions acknowledging technical/schedule/cost constraints. Performs architecture, functional, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, AoAs, requirements allocation and interface definition translating customer requirements into system specs/capability descriptions/use cases/user stories. Maintains strong awareness of technical IT and Next Gen GEOINT domain/tradecraft trends, ongoing IT projects, and NSG/ASG/GSG mission/business requirements. Applies appropriate enterprise (IC ITE, JIE, DI2E) system architecture (JARM, System Architect, FEA-CRM) and project management model (e.g. Agile, Spiral, Waterfall, Hybrid) selected for system engineering and implementation efforts, and provides innovative analysis, design, development, deployment, and lifecycle support. Develops end-to-end project analysis, ensuring systems being implemented comply with enterprise architecture, and support NSG enterprise control gates, keeping Customer and team apprised of project status, schedule & issues.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Track and document all modifications to the current NGA Enterprise baseline for issues which may affect NTM and provide updates on the NGA architecture whenever a change is proposed 
  • Develop recommendations to ensure NTM is leveraged to fully take advantage of the NGA Enterprise
  • Determine and document best delivery and exploitation solutions for modified and new products which are in development for NTM 
  • Conduct analysis of alternative studies to inform decision making on potential NTM changes (cost/schedule/performance); it is expected there will be at least 3 AOA recommendations on specific issues
  • Support incorporation of NTM data types into the NSGPDD

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, CS, Info Systems, Math, or related scientific or technical discipline
  • 10 years IT e.g. SE&I, architecture, analysis, capabilities implementation, SLC process experience, 5+ years of IC or agency related experience
  • 5 years System Engineering experience working with geospatial IT systems
  • Working knowledge and Systems Engineering and Integration experience with NSG and NTM systems and interfaces
  • Working knowledge of the NSG and NGA Acquisition and Change Management Processes
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong customer service teaming skills; ability to collaborate in cross-functional team
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, and ability to lead technical forums
  • Active TS/SCI security clearances with knowledge/experience working in the Intel Community

Desired Qualifications

  • MS in Engineering, CS, Info Systems, Math, or related scientific or technical discipline,
  • IT credential and certifications i.e. DAWIA, PMP, INCOSE, ITIL, CISSP and SAFe Agile
  • Demonstrated system engineering experience with NSG and NGA IC partner systems/sensors 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary project teams 
  • Experience in enterprise software test development, Service as a Solution, cloud computing, distributed systems, database internals, and/or analytics
