Purpose of your role

We are seeking an experienced Client Onboarding & Monitoring Lead to play a critical role in working within a high performing team, responsible for OFX’s ongoing client due diligence activities in Singapore and APAC.

This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, particularly compliance and strict adherence to Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) regulatory standards and associated MAS AML/CFT Guidelines for our client onboarding and monitoring processes, as well as other relevant regulatory bodies across the APAC region. The role will support the OFX Compliance team with MAS AML/CFT requirements and is responsible for effective client onboarding, monitoring and ongoing due diligence controls.

You will work collaboratively with the onboarding and client monitoring teams across APAC, and cross functionally with key stakeholders such as risk, compliance and legal. Your leadership will directly support OFX’s ability to maintain safe and trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.

What you do

  • Support the Head of Customer Operations APAC and the Singapore CEO in leading and managing the following activities across Singapore (and APAC where required):
    • Client onboarding, monitoring activities and ensuring timely and accurate completion of all OCDD tasks.
    • Oversee periodic and trigger-based Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and customer risk rating refreshes in response to ongoing monitoring findings.
    • Oversee approval of reviews and escalations where required to ensure due diligence is completed.
    • Accountability for identifying and escalating material AML/CTF, sanctions and other financial crime risks to the Compliance team and management.
    • Assist in the completion of client onboarding checks in line with KYC, AML and CTF onboarding requirements, ensuring a smooth and efficient process in order to maximise conversion rates from online registrations to active clients.
    • Proactively assist the team’s caseload, particularly in managing Singapore and Hong Kong case queues and broader APAC activities where required.
    • Support regulatory reviews, audits and leading remediation activities relating to client monitoring.
    • Provide leadership and oversight of all Singapore monitoring activities, to drive quality and efficiency across all client monitoring processes through data-driven insights.
    • Provide coaching, training, and professional development to team members to build expertise and confidence.
    • Assist in overseeing performance management and resource planning to maintain operational excellence.
  • In addition to core responsibilities for Singapore, the role will also:
    • Work closely with teams across APAC to assist with onboarding and client monitoring activities across APAC where required.
    • Be a key contributor in the local Singapore Leadership Team and actively support the Singapore CEO and leadership team at scheduled management meetings to report and engage on matters arising from their areas of AML, onboarding and monitoring responsibilities.
    • Act as a key liaison with Risk & Compliance, Client Protection, and Frontline teams to ensure alignment on monitoring outcomes and regulatory obligations.
    • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, reduce inefficiency, and strengthen compliance controls. In particular, provide leadership and oversight with regards to quality assurance, monitoring control effectiveness backlog oversight and the continuous improvement of monitoring processes.
    • Ensure the team maintains a customer-first mindset, providing timely communication and care during reviews or information requests.
    • Provide reporting and insights to leadership on emerging risks, metrics, and performance trends.

Qualifications

What you bring

Knowledge, skills, experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in AML/CTF, financial crime, or CDD roles within a regulated financial services or FinTech environment in Singapore
  • 2+ years of team leadership or supervisory experience in a client onboarding, compliance or monitoring function, within a regulated environment
  • Proven ability to manage operational teams in a regulated environment with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks (e.g. MAS, FATF, AUSTRAC, FCA, FINTRAC).
  • Proven expertise in conducting client onboarding activities.
  • Proven expertise in conducting periodic reviews and enhanced due diligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to review and guide others on complex cases.
  • Proven collaborator and works well with colleagues cross region, and experience supporting or mentoring colleagues in a regulated operations environment.
  • Familiarity with transaction monitoring and KYC systems and tools.
  • Demonstrated experience improving processes and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Skilled at managing stakeholder relationships across Compliance, Risk, and Operations.
