Job Description

Purpose of your role

Join our Global Legal team as a Legal Counsel. In this critical role, you'll play a central part in managing vendor contracts, providing ASX company secretarial support, ensuring meticulous privacy compliance, and facilitating business expansion throughout the region.

This role leverages the advantages of OFX's hybrid work model. Come into the office  with purpose for collaboration with your team, while also enjoying focused productivity from the comfort of your home.

What you do

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a spectrum of commercial contracts.
  • Provide legal counsel on diverse commercial, privacy, licensing, and regulatory issues.
  • Assist in Company Secretarial matters.
  • Review and approve marketing content across various platforms in APAC.
  • Draft and review partner/enterprise agreements in APAC.
  • Proactively identify, escalate, and advise on legal and regulatory risks.
  • Craft and review internal policies/procedures for consistency and compliance.
  • Collaborate with global Legal Team and business stakeholders on global initiatives.
  • Aid the global Legal Team in developing and streamlining processes for efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Law degree with superior academic credentials from a nationally-recognised law school.
  • Current practicing certificate in an Australian Jurisitction

Knowledge, skills, experience

  • PQE: 2 to 5 years.
  • Experience as a lawyer in a major law firm, with in-house experience being advantageous.
  • Familiarity with financial services is desirable.
  • Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and providing general commercial legal advice.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills, along with strong relationship-building abilities.
  • Demonstrated adaptability to learn new legal areas.
  • Possession of a commercial and pragmatic attitude.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks while maintaining high standards of detail.
