Job Description

This is a hybrid role in Perrysburg, Ohio. 

This position is responsible for providing process control related technical support as a lead engineer on complex projects encompassing project planning, development, implementation, and modification of glass container facilities. Position researches and applies new technologies in corporate and global applications and provides significant technical assistance on corporate programs and initiatives. Design responsibilities include day to day engineering on process control projects.  Excellent interpersonal and communication are skills required to establish and maintain positive working relationships with team members as well as internal and external corporate customers.

Responsibilities: 

  • Very strong knowledge of process control engineering fundamentals and design principles
  • Very strong knowledge of instruments, valves and controllers for pressure, temperature, flow, moisture, vibration and other process variables;
  • Very strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, Servers, Industrial Networks and Protocol.
  • Provides insight into current applicable engineering codes to provide safe and economical designs, as well as a working knowledge of special requirements and situations.
  • Provides analysis, calculations, drawings, sketches and specifications for the process control related portions of projects.
  • Responsibilities include complete scoping, equipment & material selection, cost estimates, analysis, design and construction package generation for process control portions of projects at glass container facilities.  Designs may include, but are not limited to: batch house, furnace and cold end process control projects and forming machine electronics related projects, as well as all other primary and ancillary systems within our facilities.
  • Manage the installation, testing, start-up, and troubleshooting of the various systems noted above.
  • Communicate with other disciplines, consultants, contractors, and plant personnel on project issues.
  • Strong knowledge of drawing package creation and checking procedures.
  • Guides other engineers and designers as required.
  • Ensure the safety in every work performed by contractors under his responsibility;
  • Providing guidance, assistance, advice and comments to subcontractors on process control construction matters; 
  • Check and approval of documents and drawings  from different vendors in order to ensure the success of projects;
  • Elaborate technical specifications for equipment and systems compliant with technical, safety  and O-I Standards and best engineering practices;
  • Prepares descriptive memorials for contracting services;
  • Support other disciplines such as mechanical and civil;
  • Know and apply the technical standards relevant to your area of expertise;
  • Support Procurement Team checking technical proposals and providing any technical information needed.
  • Ensure project documentation is tracked, updated, organized; 
  • Manage the installation, testing, start-up, and troubleshooting of the various systems noted above. 

Travel: 30% (75% domestic, 25% international) 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical, Mechatronics engineering
  • 5-10 yrs experience in plants / industry related
  • Experience in civil / structural engineering with emphasis on structural steel engineering
  • Ability to solve complex engineering problems related to existing or new designs and systems
  • MS Office and  English skills – Advanced
  • Knowledge in Project Management – Basic
  • Knowledge in Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor – Intermediate

Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position will be between $105,000 - $120,000 and a 10% STI bonus.  Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
