Job Description
The Enterprise Data Strategy, Reporting, & Analytics Director is responsible for defining and executing the enterprise-wide strategy for Data Management, Reporting & Analytics. This role will lead a Hub organization that enables O-I to leverage data as a strategic asset to drive business insights, operational efficiency and competitive advantage. This role is accountable for establishing a robust governance framework, ensuring data quality and accessibility, and delivering actionable insights through reporting and advanced analytics. This role will partner closely with key business stakeholders, aligning data initiatives with organizational goals, leveraging enabling technologies to provide scalable, reliable, compliant, and accessible data supporting O-I’s decision-making process.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Define the vision and lead the data, reporting and analytics function by setting the strategy, establishing objectives, and managing talent to deliver a best-in-class performance framework that drives data visibility, allows for informed decision-making, and instills compliance through robust governance.
- Establish and drive adoption of a centralized data governance framework, including policies for data quality, integrity, definitions, monitoring, and compliance.
- Drive enterprise-wide initiatives to improve data and analytics literacy at all levels of the organization.
- Drive internal and external data sourcing strategies, ensuring timely, accurate, and relevant data availability, automating to maximize efficiency.
- Partner with IT to develop a robust technology strategy and roadmap supporting business decisions related to technology.
- Champion enterprise-wide data integration initiatives, enabling a single source of truth for critical business data.
- Partner with key business stakeholders including Country Group Operations, Centers of Excellence (COE), IT, Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, and other business units to align data initiatives with organizational priorities.
- Partner with external service providers to ensure compliance with policies and standards defined by the Hub.
- Oversee Enterprise Master Data Management and metadata standards.
Operational Excellence
- Develop and enable automation for data processing ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive data catalog with appropriate definitions and ownership, driving consistency and transparency across the organization.
- Drive initiatives for data quality improvement including increasing standardization, master data management, and efficiency in the tools and solutions used to deliver the organizations data insights.
- Partner with the Global IT organization to design and maintenance of enterprise data architecture, developing and automating scalable data pipelines to ensure efficient data flow and processing across the organization.
- Develop standards to ensure that data sourced from internal systems and external providers comply with accuracy, completeness, and timeliness requirements.
- Design and implement standardized, harmonized data models to support consistent reporting and actionable analytics for decision-making.
- Lead the design and delivery of standardized reporting solutions for executive leadership and operational teams.
- Ensure dashboards and self-service analytic tools are available and intuitive for easy business stakeholder usage.
- Define and monitor KPIs’ and performance metrics in partnership with key leaders across the organization and aligned to business goals and outcomes, enabling continuous business optimization.
- Ensure timely, accurate and actionable insights are delivered to key leaders across the organization as well as external stakeholders.
- Champion the use of predictive analytics, AI/ML models, and data science to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Identify emerging technologies and trends to enhance analytics capabilities.
- Use data analytics, process tools, and internal / external performance benchmarks to identify opportunities and drive measurable process improvements and kill waste.
- Establish and manage a global intake process for data, reporting, and analytics requests.
- Define prioritization criteria aligned with business value, strategic objectives, and resource capacity.
- Facilitate governance forums to approve, sequence, and monitor delivery of initiatives.
- Develop and implement training programs, workshops, and self-service resources to empower employees to use data effectively in decision-making.
People Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing team of agile data engineers, modelers, analysts, scientists and other business partnering roles, fostering a culture of Back Each Other and innovation.
- Define clear roles, responsibilities, and career paths to attract, develop, and retain top talent in data, reporting and analytics.
- Direct data engineering activities, ensuring robust performance for analytics solutions.
- Lead data governance teams and processes, including cleansing, transformation, and enrichment to deliver high-quality datasets for reporting and insights.
- Develop a team who leverages storytelling skills to present complex findings to non-technical audiences.
- Promote continuous learning through engaging development opportunities, upskilling training programs, and exposure to emerging technologies.
- Establish performance metrics and accountability frameworks to measure team effectiveness and impact.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in business or related field
- Senior data, analytics, and reporting expert with strong business acumen and ability to lead through influence
- 10+ years of experience working with data and analytics
- 5+ years of people leadership and proven people development
- Demonstrated highly effective experience partnering with various cross functional teams including stakeholders from Finance, IT, Procurement, Country Groups, HR, Supply Chain and external Managed Service Providers working with global processes and systems
- Dynamic leadership abilities to adapt quickly and lead through change
- Strong analytical mindset that can translate complex concepts into relatable and actionable insights
- Takes initiative to drive results and quickly assimilates new information, tools, and processes to stay ahead of evolving business needs
- Experience with a broad technology landscape including SAP, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Python, SQL, ServiceNow (demand/portfolio management) and visual tools as well as more progressive technologies like AI, Gen AI, Machine Learning
- Strong expertise in data governance, data quality, and compliance frameworks
- Working knowledge of SOX and internal controls, including policies and procedures ensuring a strong Control Environment, as well as privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)

What we offer at O-I:
Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $160,000 - $200,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
