Job Description

The Plant Manager is accountable for all aspects of a continuous manufacturing operation.  The Plant Manager ensures proper coordination of long-term operations through planning and monitoring of performance measures.  This position will drive improvement throughout the organization and will lead focus on continuous plant improvement to meet manufacturing objectives, with an emphasis on customer quality and customer service.

The Plant Manager will:

  • Lead and foster a plant safety culture throughout the operations
  • Ensure resources and activities for achievement of KPI’s toward financial objectives
  • Work with plant leadership to develop and implement succession planning and talent management program
  • Work with plant leadership to maintain productive employee relations, promoting and supporting team building and employee empowerment, while ensuring excellent plant communication
  • Ensure adherence to Labor Contract and is responsible for third step grievance meetings
  • Integrate the Company quality system process, adhering to all quality standards that strengthens the plant yield
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and regulatory agencies

The Plant Manager should have:

  • Ability to collaborate and engage with all levels of the organization
  • Strong manufacturing experience with an emphasis on leadership skills
  • Experience driving continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Effective cost management skills

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Operations or similar is preferred
  • Must have previous experience leading people and processes in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the glass industry
  • Demonstrated high level of leadership skills
  • Previous leadership experience in a union environment is highly preferred

What we offer at O-I: 

Salary Range:  
The expected annual salary range for this position is between $150,000 - $180,000 and includes a possible 25% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
