Job Description
Yarmouth Regional Hospital (YRH), in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, is seeking locum Psychiatrist to join the team during active recruitment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide care and coordination of community-based care, and secondary and tertiary level health care.
- Provide direct clinical outpatient care
- Provide inpatient psychiatric care and coordination for the mental health unit at Yarmouth Regional Hospital
- Provide emergency medicine services in conjunction with our crisis team
- Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority.
- Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities.
Expected Hours:
- Full time (1.0 FTE)
- Call is shared within the psychiatry group
- Duration is approximately one year
Compensation is provided by the service. Locum physicians are eligible to access the travel elements of the program, including reimbursement for kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim facility on call fees under specific conditions.
Qualifications
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
