The Senior Accountant is responsible for accurate project and financial accounting, IFRS-compliant reporting, and disciplined month-end close within a live contracting environment. The role supports management reporting, cash-flow visibility, and audit readiness while ensuring strict adherence to internal controls and UAE regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review journal entries and balance-sheet reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
• Review and record revenue, IPCs, variations, and client billings in line with IFRS and contract terms.
• Execute and support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Control subcontractor and supplier accounting, including advances, retentions, and settlement tracking.
• Prepare monthly project P&Ls, WIP schedules, and cost-to-complete reports with supporting analysis.
• Manage project cost accounting, budget vs actuals, margin tracking, and cost-to-complete monitoring.
• Enforce accounting controls and DoA compliance, support audit readiness at project and HQ level.
• Support project-based cash-flow forecasting and management reporting.
• Support preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
• Liaise with auditors and regulatory authorities as required.
• Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and reporting automation.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting for contracting companies.
• Hands-on experience with procurement cycles, subcontractors, and retentions.
• Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Excel for project accounting.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS (WIP, revenue recognition)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple live projects under time and cost pressure.
