What's the role?

Actuarial interns work under the direction of a credentialed actuary in any one of the following roles:

 

-  Experience studies

-  Valuation

-  Risk management

-  Corporate modeling

-  Life, Long Term Care, Disability Income, or Annuity Pricing

 

As an Actuarial Intern, you will engage in work that is equivalent to that of a fulltime employee. Projects can include pricing new products and studying our experience to make recommendations for changes in assumptions. Interns will utilize their skills to research problems, analyze data, and present their findings.

 

Along with engaging work, interns will meet with several actuaries in senior level leadership positions both within the actuarial department and throughout the company. There are also opportunities to meet with senior executives, including the CEO!

Bring Your Best! What this role needs:

-  Actuarial Science or related major, preferably having completed Freshman year

 

-  3.00 GPA Minimum

 

-  Must have strong analytical and communications skills, and evidence of a strong work ethic

 

-  Able to work 40 hours per week during the summer of 2018

 

-  Successful completion of an SOA exam and prior actuarial internship experience preferred

 

-  A working knowledge of Excel or similar office tools is recommended
