Job Description

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Specialist to join our dynamic team in our ambulatory clinic in Lake Forest, IL. Our MFM team provides full-spectrum care in a community setting, supported by the Northwestern Medicine Health Network. We collaborate with OBGYN physicians across six Northwestern Medicine hospitals, which collectively support 9,000 deliveries each year. Each hospital has associated facilities for consultation and ultrasound services.

NM Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital has a Level II + Special Care Nursery (SCN/NICU) and is partnered with Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital to provide neonatal services. Our AIUM-accredited department uses advanced technology to provide remote ultrasound services and interpretations for OB and GYN scans across the health network. The team also offers inpatient high-risk consultations at Central DuPage Hospital in collaboration with OB Hospitalists. We provide phone support and guidance to obstetricians at Delnor, Huntley, Kishwaukee, Lake Forest, and Palos hospitals, and coordinate maternal transfers to Central DuPage Hospital when needed. Opportunities to participate in deliveries and procedures are available, if desired.

Our growing program will include 11 MFM physicians and advanced practice providers. The team-based model includes collaboration with a geneticist, genetic counselor, fetal cardiologist, fetal echo-certified sonographers, and experienced Maternal-Fetal Medicine clinical support staff. We also have strong working relationships with adult medicine and surgical subspecialists. Pediatric surgery, cardiology, urology, neurology, and neonatology consultations are provided by specialists from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and the Chicago Institute for Fetal Health.

Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital is ranked No. 7 in the Chicago Metro Area and in Illinois in the U.S. News & World Report for Best Hospitals.
