Job Description

** This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. The schedule for this role is Monday to Friday. 8am to 4:30pm. This role is a hybrid model, with majority of work being work from home, with some office time required. Travel to hospital locations in the North, Northwest and South suburbs would be required. **

The Charge Analyst reviews, analyzes, and coordinates charge master activities for the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilizes clinical and coding knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant charge items and to recognize and resolve billing inconsistencies.
  • Analyzes content of system-generated reports and software edits to facilitate revisions with appropriate clinical departments.
  • Serves as liaison to the appropriate Epic Team concerning medication charges and billing.
  • Participates in departmental auditing processes as requested.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Preferred:

  • 1 year of related experience preferred.
