Job Description
**We are currently hiring for 2 open positions at our Grayslake Outpatient Center with a Freestanding ER. Ideal applicant will have prior experience in Peds, vascular, OB and abdomen/small parts. Current openings include:
- Full time (40 hours per week) Night shift. Schedule is Sunday to Thursday 10:30p to 7am. Holiday and on call rotation required. Sign on bonus eligible for eligible applicants.
- Part Time (20 hours per week) evening shift. The schedule is Tues 4p-1030p, Wed 330p-1030p, Thur 4p-1030p. On call and holiday rotation required.**

Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across multiple specialties, including abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, breast, and MSK, in accordance with established standards of practice.
Review and evaluate imaging requests and patient history to determine appropriate examination protocols and techniques.
Operate ultrasound equipment and accessories to produce high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing patient exposure.
Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures to reduce anxiety and improve comfort and cooperation.
Assess and care for patients throughout the procedure in accordance with department, hospital, and age-specific patient care standards.
Observe, evaluate, and communicate pertinent clinical findings to radiologists and ordering providers to support diagnosis and treatment.
Prepare examination rooms and perform set-up and sterile tray preparation, including procedure-specific supplies, medications, guide wires, catheters, and ancillary equipment.
Assist with patient positioning, lifting, and transport to and from imaging areas as required.
Accurately document imaging procedures manually and/or electronically to ensure correct patient records, image tracking, and billing.
Transmit completed studies to PACS and other imaging systems using correct accession numbers.
Prepare preliminary findings or reports in designated reporting systems and route to interpreting physicians as required.
Perform vascular ultrasound studies, including lower extremity venous duplex examinations, in accordance with vascular laboratory protocols.
Communicate acute or critical findings promptly to the ordering provider and document notifications per policy.
Manage daily worklists and prioritize examinations according to clinical urgency and accepted practices.
Maintain supply inventory in imaging areas, ensuring availability, proper rotation, and a clean, organized environment.
Report equipment malfunctions or performance concerns promptly to leadership.
Support departmental quality improvement initiatives through data collection and process improvement efforts.
Facilitate continuity of care through effective collaboration with internal and external departments and provider offices.
Maintain satisfactory productivity, image quality, and customer service standards.
Participate in continuing education and maintain required professional certifications.
Provide clinical instruction and supervision to students enrolled in accredited ultrasound programs, as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and organizational goal
Qualifications
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Sonography Program
- Certified in two American Registry for Diagnostic Sonographer (ARDMS) areas and one additional ARDMS certification obtained within one year of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
