Job Description

The Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute is seeking an Analyst to support transplant financial operations at the Academic Medical Center. This position will focus on financial reporting and analysis as well as standard business operations (including processing purchase orders and tracking invoices). Additional responsibilities may include ad hoc reporting related to medical group and service line operations and finances. Candidates should have familiarity with accounting/finance terminology and application and have strong Excel skills.

The Analyst, Operations is responsible for regularly producing accurate and insightful reports and analyses on goal performance and operational initiatives.  The Analyst, Operations works collaboratively with department and operational leadership to evaluate current state and help identify opportunities.  Responsibilities may involve collecting and analyzing of information, preparing and presenting reports to various audiences, and developing and revising analytical models. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops analyses by integrating multiple data elements, best practice research and recommendations to support advancement of organization goals.
  • Uses robust analytics, critical thinking and innovative problem solving skills to assesses performance and evaluate opportunities in terms of organizational impact, priority area, and impact on organizational performance goals.
  • Works with operational leadership on the assessment of key metrics and other ad-hoc analyses designed to support discussions and decisions related to goal performance.
  • Assists in monthly review and analysis of operational performance relative to NMG’s goals.
  • Helps ensure the accuracy and timely dissemination of operational dashboard reports and other standard management information.
  • Provides analytical support for ad hoc special projects.
  • Organizes, synthesizes and summarizes information to facilitate operational discussions
  • Builds dynamic, analytical models to analyze new/existing goals and initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains relationships between other information-based departments, including Analytics, Performance Improvement, NM Academy, HR, Engagement, Quality and Patient Care.
  • Performs other activities as requested and prioritized by the Operations Team.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and organization while maintaining high levels of performance.
  • Collaborates well with others and enjoys working as part of a team.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, particularly high proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and think independently with orientation to deadline and detail.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem solving capabilities.

Preferred:

  • Healthcare experience.
