Job Description

The Project Director reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

This high-level staff position has responsibilities for new program and business development including: leading planning initiatives, researching and presenting relevant business data, and coordinating implementation of new NM programs/business opportunities.  Under the direction leadership, prepares detailed business and operating plans for new programs that will guide NM leadership decision-making. Leads implementation of multiple new business models by coordinating efforts across multiple NM disciplines, campus partners, and external organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Forms, facilitates and leads complex, multi-departmental planning and implementation processes. Successfully involves NM Senior Leadership, NM Medical Directors, NM Operations Directors, and other campus partners to build consensus on strategies/new programs.
  • Through relationship development throughout NM community, identifies and secures interdepartmental support and other resources necessary for successful origination and implementation of new programs initiatives.  Works closely with operational staff and managers to facilitate implementation of approved initiatives.
  • Under the direction of VP implements new business initiatives, such as affiliations and partnerships with other businesses and organizations to develop new and existing services and business models.  Where appropriate, facilitates development and execution of business and/or service agreements with campus partners and external organizations.
  • Introduces, develops, and facilitates new business and programmatic plans for NM.  Analyzes resource requirements, growth potential, risk/reward and financial benefit to proposed initiatives through complex analysis and research of market, financial, and internal factors.  
  • Works closely with key managers and physicians to complete plans and recommendations.
  • Effectively works with operational managers and physicians to define projects that effectively meet organizational strategic objectives. 
  • Prepares business (program) plans and works closely with leadership to develop financial analysis and pro formas for inclusion in business plans.  Facilitates approval of new opportunities by NM Leadership. 
  • Works closely with operational staff and managers to assure successful transition of approved initiatives after implementation.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to recruit highly effective providers and staff for new programs.
  • Responsible for meeting goals in a timely and cost effective manner. Held accountable through performance goals, incentive plans, and other monitoring systems.
  • Supports NM senior management as requested/assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five (5) or more years of health care planning, strategy, and business development experience
  • Experience working within a clinical environment
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent analytical skills. 

Preferred:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Health Administration (MHA)
  • Experience in academic medical center preferred, experience working closely with physicians in a provider setting is highly desired.
