Job Description
Nights 7P-7A, one weekend every 4 and 2 holidays per year, winter and summer.
The Clinical Admission Nurse reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as an access point resource for physicians, staff, and patients.
- Assists with the most appropriate level of care and admission status.
- Applies approved criteria and guidelines in decision making, as well as managed care rules and practices.
- Ensures a smooth admission experience for patients by coordinating clinical needs with operational processes and insurance benefits.
Qualifications
Required:
- At least two to five years patient care experience in a hospital setting
- Ability to multi-task and process multi-factoral stimulation accurately
- BSN required for all new hires as of 1/1/2011
- LIC RN
Preferred:
- Past experience in admissions, utilization review activities, discharge planning, and/or case management
