Job Description

The EMS Educator reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

  • Develops and provides services related to orientation, continuing education, and assessment of clinical staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
  • Designs, delivers, and assesses learning activities and curriculums related to clinical competencies, departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use of clinical information technologies.
  • Serves as a consultant/mentor for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
  • Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of new staff orientation and education activities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing or Paramedic program.
  • Current RN licensure or EMP-T license
  • Five years of critical care experience and one year of teaching experience
  • Two years in course coordination
  • CPR-Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • CPR-Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • CPR-Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • IDPH Lead Instructor within one year of hire

Preferred:

  • More than five years of critical care experience and more than one year of teaching experience
  • More than four years in course coordination
  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree
  • Current IDPH Instructor
  • ACLS Instructor
  • Certified BLST
  • Certified PALSI
