Job Description
The Neurodiagnostic Tech I reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
This position supports the Neurodiagnostics Lab at Central Dupage Hospital and Delnor Hospitals and is primarily responsible for performing Electroencephalograms in a variety of settings.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Physician with EMG populace.
- Answer phone and schedule patients. Keep equipment clean.
- Report any service issues to Lead Technologist/Supervisor.
- At times, will require travel to another hospital to cover shift or assist in heavy workload.
- Rotating call, some weekends and holidays.
- Minimum 10 CEU credits per fiscal year.
Qualifications
Required:
- The candidate must possess strong
interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written. - The Technologist must possess the experience to work independently, the ability to work in a team environment and continuously strive for superior performance.
- Must perform a clinically competent routine electroencephalogram and long term epilepsy/continuous electroencephalograms for neonate through geriatric populations.
- Must be adept at a variety of application processes, including collodion and paste.
- Must pass internal training and show proficiency in the recognition of normal and abnormal waveforms.
- Must be able to work with a variety of age groups and disabilities in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Accuracy in charge posting and
maintenance of log book.
