Job Description

The Pharmacy Technician reflects the mission, vision, and values of NMHC, adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The shifts will be Monday thru Friday, rotating between 6:45-5pm.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provides pharmacy services and assistance under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
  • Performs duties in the IV room that will involve setting up sterile products for dispensing, making appropriate record entries and reviewing IV administration records
  • Prepares complex chemotherapy products / Handle hazardous drugs according to USP 800 and NIOSH recommendations
  • Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department.
  • Provides pharmacy services and assistance under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • LIC PHARMT: Illinois licensure as a Pharmacy Technician.

Preferred:

 

  • 1 year with sterile compounding experience preferred 
  • 1 year of experience in a hospital setting.
  • CPhT: Certification as a Pharmacy Technician
