The Massage Therapist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Massage Therapist provides clinically appropriate treatment by using touch to manipulate the soft-tissue muscles of the body in order to relieve pain, help rehabilitate injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, increase relaxation, and aid in the general wellness of clients. This role must consistently demonstrate concern and understanding of the patient to promote comfort, privacy, and respect for the patient’s preferences. This position will collaborate closely with the chiropractic physician when treating musculoskeletal patients.

Responsibilities:

• Assesses the patient’s medical history, symptoms, and selects clinically appropriate method of massage.
• Provides patient education and addresses patient concerns before, during, and after treatment.
• Administers massage therapy, evaluates patient’s response and treatment outcomes, provides resources and makes recommendations as appropriate.
• Consults with other health practitioners as necessary and works cooperatively with the health care team and staff regarding care of the patient.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Required:

• Massage Therapist, Licensed (IL)
• Diploma or certification of completion from an approved massage therapy school
• Minimum of two years post-graduate experience

Preferred:

• Continuing education credits/certifications in bodywork/energy medicine that broaden therapeutic options for patients.
