Job Description

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a LCSW to work in our Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic. This position is 100% outpatient.

The LCSW will support COMPASS Program. The COMPASS Program is a collaboration between OBGYN and Psychiatry to provide psychiatry and psychology services to patients in our NMG Galter 14 outpatient practices.

  1. Maintain a caseload of perinatal patients and provide collaborative care services, including but not limited to case management, coordination of care with providers, medication management, and psychotherapy.
  2. Enroll new patients into the COMPASS program - includes intake screenings/assessments and utilizing EPIC to record/maintain client information.

 Schedule: 4x10s; no nights/weekends/on-call

The Clinical Counselor reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

This role is a licensed, masters’ prepared counselor/therapist who is responsible for providing diagnostic assessments and treatment for individuals. The Clinical Counselor will be a core member of the patient’s collaborative care team, including the patient’s medical provider, psychiatric consultant, as well as the larger primary care and/or medical team.  

Responsibilities:

  • This position will be responsible for completing biopsychosocial assessment as appropriate to setting in order to guide treatment planning. 
  • Conducting individual and couples counseling specific to the program scope of care, and as indicated by the assessed needs of the patients. 
  • Participating with members of the treatment team, the NMH network of programs, and community systems to plan and implement treatment.
  • Supervising graduate counseling/social work student(s). 
  • Documenting timely, accurate and appropriate clinical information in patient's medical record per documentation standards. 
  • Collaborating with other departments/programs and external resources as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, Counseling or Social Work 
  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) within the State of IL
  • A high level of interpersonal skills to affect positive outcomes
  • Self-direction required for daily work
